Primary PE and Sport Premium 2018-19

Foreland Fields School has been allocated £9,677 Primary PE and Sport Premium for 2018-19. In addition, there is a rollover of £3,898.90 from the 2017-18 allocation which leaves a total for the year of £13,575.90.

This funding will be used to continue to ensure that all of our Primary aged pupils can participate in, and benefit from, sport and physical activity. This will involve the Athlefit and Sensory PE sessions as well as water therapy sessions for pupils with mobility issues.

Foreland Fields School will, once again, host the annual football tournament which is well attended by all local special schools and colleges.

Foreland Fields School has been provided with a 3.5 acre piece of land adjacent to the school which, it is planned, will host a pavilion as well as a full sized football pitch. This area will be utilised by all pupils across the school including our infant and Junior department for both football, rugby and other field sports. There will however be a requirement for staff to receive training in order to plan and deliver sessions to pupils which will be funded through the grant. There will also be a requirement to purchase equipment, much of this specialist equipment, to ensure access and participation for all pupils.

In addition, sessions such as ‘Bounce beyond’, which provided physical activity for pupils of all abilities, will also be delivered throughout the year. More able pupils will also continue to receive swimming instruction and support in order to raise attainment in swimming.
