A reminder to all parents and carers not to send their child into school if they have any of the following symptoms:
• a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
• a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
• a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
If a child presents with any of the symptoms whilst in school, we will immediately ring parents/carers to collect their child. The advice we give to parents, following PHE guidance, is for the child to self-isolate for at least 10 days and all other household members for 14 days. We ask that parents arrange for their child to have a test to see if they have coronavirus (COVID-19) and that they contact the school with the result of the test at their earliest convenience.
