Christmas Events

9th Dec 2021

I imagine many of you are aware of yesterday's press conference delivered by the Prime Minister regarding the implementation of Plan B restrictions to combat the spread of the Omicron variant.

In line with this, and owing to the measures we have put in place, at this stage we will be continuing with events planned for the remainder of the term.

The Prime Minister was very clear that Christmas plays should not be cancelled. The 6th Form/Key Stage 4 and the Key Stage 3 events for tomorrow and Friday will go ahead as planned. We request LFD tests are taken by all attendees (parents/carers/grandparents) on the morning of the shows. Temperatures will be taken on arrival and we ask that face coverings are worn throughout performances unless medically exempt. Please only turn up for the shows if you have informed the school of your intention to attend.

The Christmas Fair on Wednesday 15th will also go ahead as planned though obviously this is dependant on the weather as the entire event is to be held outside.

Whilst we feel that we need to celebrate the season, and our pupils and students have put so much work into these events, we will continue to monitor infection rates and be informed by the latest guidance therefore, may have to make changes to events, possibly at the last minute.

Our number one priority throughout the pandemic has been, and continues to be, the health and safety of our pupils and students and we will make changes to planned events if we believe that through moving ahead this could be compromised.
