Severe Weather Update

17th Jul 2022

Owing to the severe weather warning, I have decided to leave the decision as to whether children attend school on Monday and Tuesday (18th and 19th July) up to parents/carers. School will be open as normal to any child that does attend.

I will be authorising absence for any child whose parents choose to keep them off school. In line with school policy, could I ask that parents/carers telephone the school from 8am if they do decide to keep their children at home on Monday and Tuesday.

The above includes children who attend our Garlinge satellite provision.

Any child that does attend school should, where possible, wear loose, light-coloured clothing which will help them keep cool. School uniform is not necessary.

Could we ask that all parents/carers send their child into school with a wide brimmed or legionnaire’s style hat and ensure that they have sun-cream applied before attending school. Please send in a named bottle of sun-cream in order that we can support your child to reapply this during the day as necessary.

All after school clubs for this week have been cancelled.

I will be in touch over the next few days to provide updates for the rest of the week.
