NEU Strike Action - Latest

We have spent the morning planning for Wednesday’s strike action by members of the National Education Union. As I stated at the time, schools are expected to take all reasonable steps to remain open to as many pupils as possible. Looking at current numbers, I am pleased to report that we will not need to close the school to any pupils/students. However, should there be increased absence amongst staff on Wednesday, on top of those we know will not be in school, we may need to make on the day decisions to close certain classes on health and safety grounds.

Industrial Action - National Education Union

The National Education Union (NEU) has announced that their Teaching members will be taking industrial action in the form of 4 strike days on 1 st February, 2 nd March and 15 th and 16 th March 2023. The first strike day that may affect our school is therefore scheduled to take place on Wednesday 1 st February. A letter has been sent home with your child regarding strike action. Lake District Holiday Raffle Draw

The raffle for the Lake District holiday was drawn today. The ticket was drawn by a student in upper school, overseen by members of Vangogh Stars class and a member of the leadership team. The winner of the holiday was our very own Department Operational Lead, Sarah Wood. We all hope that Sarah has an enjoyable time in the beautiful Lake District.

Group A Streptococcus(GAS)/Scarlett Fever

You will all be aware, through the mainstream news and media, of the increasing prevalence of Group A Streptococcus(GAS)/Scarlett Fever. We have today received advice from the UK Health Security Agency (see attached documents). We do not want to alarm anyone. Nationally, there has currently been a very small number of cases which have led to serious illness.

Ks4/6th Form Business

A letter will be coming home with your child this evening. Students in Key Stage 4 and 6 th Form are taking part in a mini-enterprise project with the Young Enterprise Charity which will involve them starting their own company. Shares are available in their company and will be sold at £1 per share. Please read the letter on the this website if you are interested in purchasing shares.

Dear Parents/Carers Re-visit of Kent County Council from 27 September to 29 September 2022. Please find below a letter from Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission who have announced that they will conduct a three-day revisit to Kent from Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 September. Please note; this is not a school inspection. The purpose of the revisit is for inspectors to assess whether the local area has made sufficient progress in addressing the areas of significant weakness detailed in the SEND Written Statement of Action.
