NEU Strike Action - Latest

We have spent the morning planning for Wednesday’s strike action by members of the National Education Union. As I stated at the time, schools are expected to take all reasonable steps to remain open to as many pupils as possible.

Looking at current numbers, I am pleased to report that we will not need to close the school to any pupils/students. However, should there be increased absence amongst staff on Wednesday, on top of those we know will not be in school, we may need to make on the day decisions to close certain classes on health and safety grounds. Please be assured we are not currently anticipating this.

Students at Garlinge and Hartsdown satellite classes should attend their settings as usual. Parents/carers of East Kent College students have been spoken to separately.
