Changes to Behaviour Guidance

Foreland Fields School uses the PROACT-SCIP®UK approach to addressing behaviour. This approach, of which around 70% is proactive, acknowledges that additional support may be required in order to keep pupils and adults safe.

From 1st April, Governing bodies of maintained schools and the proprietors of other schools must ensure that procedures are in place for reporting each significant use of force to the parents of the student involved as soon as practicable after the incident.

Therefore, should your child’s behaviour necessitate the use of restrictive person specific intervention, you will be informed both verbally (as we do now) and in writing, as soon as practicable after the incident. This will be communicated in writing to parents/carers by email.
